This media art-based performance was conceptualized for the opening ceremony of the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics,
designed to present the emergence of the Olympic rings through a synchronized interplay of laser beams and cubic LED screens.
Rather than simply displaying a symbolic form,
the work sought to transform the rings into a spatial and emotional experience,
unfolding through the language of light, structure, and rhythm.
Laser beams cut across space—vertically and horizontally—acting as sculptural vectors of energy,
while cubic LED units floated, shifted, and aligned like dynamic particles,
creating a multi-layered visual field and a sense of dimensional choreography.
The performance transcended spectacle,
offering a reinterpretation of unity and connection—the essence of the Olympic spirit—
translated into a living architecture of light.
This project was not only a celebration of athletic excellence,
but also a poetic gesture of global convergence—
where technology, symbolism, and space came together to form a new collective memory.
